FAMILY LAW

At the Law Offices of Ronald M. Kas, we use our experience and common sense to assist our clients in solving family problems. We will stand with you and help guide you in the following areas:

Child Support:

The needs of your children change over time. Unless you ask the Court to change the payment of child support to meet the guidelines set by the State of Illinois, you cannot help your children put their best foot forward. On the other hand, sometimes you become unemployed. Unless you ask the Court to change your support payment, you soon will be violating the child support order. In both instances, you owe it to your family to keep tabs on this payment.

Child Custody:

Where your children live, and who makes the decisions about their care and education is of great importance. As a parent, you should have as much involvement in the decisions regarding your children as possible. We help our clients to meet the goals they have set for their children.

Visitation:

Each parent should see their children as much as possible. Involved parents raise good kids. Visitation is not just an agreement, it’s the law. It is against the law to interfere with visitation that has been established by the Court.

Guardianship:

Sometimes, it is important to establish a guardian for your children in your absence. If you don’t take control of this issue, the State of Illinois can get involved in your family’s life. That is never a good idea, unless someone is breaking the law.

Wills:

You should leave a good roadmap for when you are gone. A good will helps ease your family’s burden. We can help you and your family find the way.

Power of Attorney for Health Care:

Just like a good will tells your family what you want after you are gone, everyone should tell their doctor who should make the decisions if they are unable to do so. You only have to hear about one Terry Shiavo case to understand that a Power Of Attorney For Health Care is actually a gift that you give your family - peace of mind.
